The Power Edge Pro Difference

Train Smarter. React Faster. Play Better.

Power Edge Pro (PEP) is one of hockey’s most respected and innovative player development systems, designed to help athletes improve the skills that matter most in today’s game. Rather than focusing on one skill at a time, PEP challenges players to skate, handle the puck, think, react, and make decisions simultaneously—just as they would in a game.

Built around the proven principles of Reactive Countering Training™ (RCT), PEP uses specialized drills and patented training tools to develop explosive edge control, balance, agility, puck control, vision, and hockey IQ. Every session is designed to replicate the pace, pressure, and unpredictability of real game situations, helping players become more confident and more effective every time they step on the ice.

At PUCK–IT Development, our certified PEP instructors deliver these sessions in a positive, challenging environment where athletes are encouraged to compete, think, and push beyond their comfort zones. Whether a player is looking to improve their skating mechanics, sharpen their puck skills, or elevate their overall game awareness, PEP provides a structured pathway for long-term development.

PEP is suitable for players of all skill levels—from those building a strong foundation to elite athletes striving to gain an edge. The goal isn’t simply to create better skaters; it’s to develop complete hockey players who can think quickly, react instinctively, and perform confidently under pressure.

What You’ll Develop

  • Edge Control & Skating Efficiency – Build stronger edges, better balance, and more explosive movement in every direction.
  • Puck Control – Improve confidence handling the puck while skating at speed and under pressure.
  • Hockey IQ – Learn to recognize developing plays, make quicker decisions, and react instinctively.
  • Vision & Awareness – Develop the ability to process multiple pieces of information while maintaining control and making smart plays.
  • Agility & Coordination – Improve body control, mobility, and movement patterns that transfer directly into game situations.
  • Confidence Under Pressure – Build trust in your abilities through challenging, high-tempo drills that simulate real competition.

Darryl

Senior Instructor | Former Professional Hockey Player

Darryl Lloyd brings more than 15 years of professional playing experience and over a decade of player development expertise to the ice. A Pickering, Ontario native, Darryl developed through the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires before earning an NHL Rookie Camp invitation with the Nashville Predators.

His professional career spanned North America and Europe, including time in the AHL, ECHL, and five championship-winning seasons with the Belfast Giants of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Along the way, he earned recognition as Team MVP, Forward of the Year, and Hardest Working Player—awards that reflect the compete level, leadership, and work ethic that defined his career.

Today, Darryl shares that experience with the next generation of athletes through a development philosophy built around seven core pillars of the game: skating, puck control, passing, shooting, hockey IQ, compete level, and body positioning. His coaching focuses on developing efficient habits, improving decision-making, and helping players understand how skills transfer into real game situations.

Known for his energetic approach and ability to connect with players, Darryl creates a challenging and positive environment where athletes are encouraged to compete, think the game, and build confidence. He believes that long-term success comes from mastering the details—whether that’s puck protection, body positioning, awareness, or making the right play under pressure.

Having experienced every stage of the hockey pathway—from minor hockey and junior hockey to professional hockey and championship teams overseas—Darryl understands what separates talented players from successful players. His goal is to help athletes become not only better hockey players, but more confident, resilient competitors both on and off the ice.

Fun Fact: Darryl’s professional career took him across two continents and multiple leagues, where he captured five championships and built a reputation as one of the hardest-working players on every team he played for.
